What didn’t survive

• The two 2005 logos (logo_big.gif and shaw_consulting_web.gif) were never archived, and nothing records how big they were. Dashed boxes stand in for them.
• The Twitter feed was a live widget that loaded from Twitter, so no copy of the tweets exists. A dashed box marks where it sat.
• The contact form sent messages through a server script that was never archived, so it no longer sends anything. In the final version the form had already gone from the page.
• The customer tools, meaning the control panel login and the two webmail systems, were private logins, not part of the website. Those links now open a short note.
• Gaps: nothing was captured between November 2005 and December 2010. After March 2024 the domain showed only an empty template page, and today the name points somewhere else.
• Not his: in 2001, before this registration, shawconsulting.net was the résumé site of a different consultant in Florida, so those captures aren’t on the shelf. shawconsulting.com and shawconsulting.org belonged to unrelated businesses.

How this copy was made

• Each page is a byte-for-byte copy of its Wayback Machine capture. The .php pages are saved as .html so they open as plain pages.
• Only links and lost pieces were changed: menu links point inside this copy; control panel and webmail links open the note; the “Tech Docs” link goes to the Wayback Machine’s copy; the Twitter widget and the old contact form are switched off, because the domain may belong to someone else now.
• The main copy uses the last capture of each page (2021–22). The 2013, 2010 and 2005 versions keep their own captures and their own header art. Only the 2010 home page was captured that year, so its other menu links open the October 2013 pages, the nearest that survive.
• A small “← Dusty Library” tag sits in the corner of each page.
