“The Latest Buzz About Bourbon Whiskey.” Bourbon Buzz started in 2009 as a WordPress blog about bourbon news, events and recipes. Its front page stayed up for fourteen years, went quiet behind a placeholder in 2024, and came back to life in 2026. This book holds exact copies of the old front pages. The first capture, on 22 May 2009, shows a brand-new WordPress blog. Its About page said: “Bourbon Buzz is a new blog on the scene. We will be bringing you all of the latest news and info about the bourbon whiskey industry.” Posts were filed under Buzz, Events, News and Recipes.
From the August 2015 capture onward, the newest post on the front page was “Barton 1792 Sweet Wheat Bourbon Whiskey Unveiled”, dated 10 June 2015. It stayed on top through October 2023. Behind the scenes WordPress kept being upgraded, from version 2.7.1 in 2009 to 6.2.2 in 2023. Between the August and October 2020 captures the wood header disappeared and the sidebar moved to the left. By December 2021 the old post pictures returned “not found” on the site itself. The last capture of the original blog is dated 1 October 2023.
On 22 March 2024 the address returned a server error. From 24 April 2024 to 12 June 2026, every capture of the front page shows the same bare placeholder, a maroon page reading “Gold Header” and “Gold Footer”. The exact day the old blog went offline is unknown. It falls somewhere between the October 2023 and March 2024 captures.
The revived site was first captured on 9 October 2026. It has a barrel-head logo marked “Est. 2009”, the original tagline, and sections for the Buzz, Buzzfeed, Labels, Trail, Events, Recipes, Bottles, Hunt and Links. Nothing was captured between 12 June and 9 October 2026, so the exact relaunch date is unknown.
